On the Road Again

The MRI Partner Summit

We were thrilled to attend the first annual MRI Partner Summit in Cleveland. Yes, it was Cleveland in January, and yes, it snowed, but the weather didn't slow us down and MRI staged a warm welcome for all of their partners. We learned more about MRI's 2016 plans for expanding their Partner Connect program. And we had the opportunity to solidify relationships with many MRI software partners who will continue to help us provide a broad suite of complementary services to our MRI clients. IMN's Winter PE Fund Forum

We continue to find the IMN Private Equity conferences to be valuable opportunities to keep up to date with marketplace trends; network with our clients, prospects, and partners; and stay abreast of the latest Investment Management technology innovations. A few sessions that we found to be of particular interest were:

  • New Fund/Emerging Manager: A Direct Guide to What it Takes to Succeed Today
  • The Innovation Panel - From CRE Smart Tech to Adaptive Reuse - Creating Value at the Asset Level

With the Super Bowl fast approaching it was a treat to hear from NFL Hall of Famer and CEO of EJ Smith Enterprises, Emmitt Smith. For small to mid-sized funds, the buzz words were specialization and differentiation. In other words, find your niche and do what you’re good at. There was continued debate on the virtues of outsourcing everything from pre-acquisition due diligence to property management to technology services.

It was clear that many of the leading firms are those that are staying at the forefront of technology and that investors, both private and institutional, are more likely than ever to demand high quality, automated reporting, and on-line access to their data. Western Region Update

We are actively expanding our West Coast team and are hoping to add three new team members this quarter. We are actively planning special events (can't share details yet, but they will be fun!) with both of our main partners for existing clients and prospects.
