MRI Ascend APAC 2024 in Sydney: Roundup and Highlights

The MRI Ascend APAC conference took place in Sydney on August 7–8. Our Australian team attended, and all agreed that the event was a fantastic way to connect with many of our Australian clients and meet people looking for assistance with their MRI solutions.
MRI’s solutions for the Asia-Pacific region were well represented at the event, including MRI Eagle, MRI Property Tree, MRI Agora Insights, and MRI Property Management X (PMX). Many of MRI’s Solutions Partners, including Core Vision, My Buildings, and Insight Spreadsheet Server, were also represented.
We had a great time and learned a lot. In today’s blog, we wanted to share a few of our highlights and takeaways.
Day One: MRI Training Academy
The first day of MRI Ascend consisted of the MRI Training Academy. This included sessions on MRI Eagle, MRI Property Tree, and MRI PMX.
The MRI PMX training sessions provided valuable insights into the budgeting and forecasting (B&F) and recovery modules, as well as how best to utilise the MRI executive dashboard.
The B&F session provided great information on best practices for using the B&F module, including utilising the Investment Modeling (IM) global templates for the PMX B&F and IM Asset integration, as well as checking the data integrity report.
Finally, the executive dashboard session showed the impressive capabilities of the dashboarding tool to provide enhanced portfolio visibility and operate as a centralised reporting repository. The dashboard boasts enhanced filter capabilities and widgets, as well as the ability to link asset managers across different projects into a single executive dashboard.
Day Two: Keynote Session, Product Sessions, and Product Room
The second day of the conference began with the keynote, which included talks from the MRI executive team and client awards.
Agora Insights, a tool that enables users to view actionable insights at a glance and put them into use more efficiently, featured heavily and is now one of MRI’s flagship offerings. This product has enjoyed a very successful release, and the clients who have adopted it speak highly of its ability to integrate seamlessly into PMX and other data sources. The artificial intelligence capabilities of the product are also highly regarded, and MRI has been very receptive to client feedback in developing, improving, and rolling out this tool.
We also learned more about the upcoming release of PMX X7, which will include:
- Moving the MRI Toolkit to the web.
- Introducing a new web development tool called Application Studio, which allows the development of Web 3.0 pages that connect quickly to any data sources the client needs.
- Releasing new standard web pages and dashboards based on Application Studio.
The day continued with product sessions and the opening of the MRI Product and Partner Room. Attendees were allowed to meet with us and learn more about the services we provide to our MRI clients in Australia. Many people who visited our booth were particularly excited to discuss how Robotic Process Automation can help them with report packaging and automated emailing of these report packages to their clients. This has become a highly needed ability for our clients in Australia.
The event wrapped up with a cocktail reception, which REdirect was proud to sponsor. The event included a performance by a popular Australian artist who tours globally, creating new paintings to music. This culminated in an incredible painting of the MRI Lion, given as a gift to Patrick Ghilani, the CEO of MRI, who also attended the reception.
