MRI Ascend APAC 2026: MRI Agora AI, Agentic Automation and the Future of PMX
MRI Ascend APAC 2026 brought property professionals together in Sydney to explore the technology and operational trends shaping real estate across Australia and New Zealand. From the introduction of MRI Agora AI in APAC to new opportunities surrounding PMX 10.7, the event showed how artificial intelligence and property management automation are becoming more deeply connected to everyday real estate workflows.
The event also marked a significant milestone for MRI Software: reaching 10,000 clients across the APAC region. This growing community spans PMX, residential property management, facilities management, investment modeling and other real estate technology solutions.
Residential property users were particularly well represented at MRI Ascend APAC 2026. Several of REdirect Consulting’s larger PMX clients also attended and visited our booth, giving our team an opportunity to discuss their current technology environments, operational challenges and plans for future growth.
MRI Leadership Emphasizes Client Priorities
Pat Ghilani opened the General Session, setting the stage for product announcements, technology demonstrations and discussions about the future of property management software.
Attendees also learned about the expanded responsibilities of David Bowie, Executive Managing Director of APAC, who has taken on the additional role of Global Chief Client Officer. In this global position, he will focus on aligning MRI’s initiatives with the evolving needs, priorities and pain points of its clients.
That client-focused direction was reflected throughout the conference, especially in the emphasis on practical AI applications for real estate organizations.
What Is MRI Agora?
One of the biggest MRI Ascend APAC 2026 announcements was the arrival of MRI Agora in the APAC market following its earlier introduction at MRI Ascend EMEA.
MRI Agora is an operating platform that connects an AI layer, core technology infrastructure and MRI’s system-of-record applications. It is designed to integrate with the property systems used across Australia and New Zealand, creating a more connected foundation for real estate data, applications and workflows.
The MRI Agora ecosystem includes:
- MRI Agora Workflow for connecting and coordinating business processes
- MRI Agora Intelligence for identifying issues and recommending actions
- MRI Agora Orchestrator for executing real estate workflows through agentic AI
- Integrated MRI applications that serve as systems of record
Together, these capabilities demonstrate how MRI is moving beyond standalone AI tools toward an integrated environment where property data, recommendations and actions can flow across systems.
How Does MRI Agora Orchestrator Use Agentic AI?
Nihar Malik, MRI Software’s Chief Innovation Officer, demonstrated how MRI Agora AI could support a residential property transaction.
During the demonstration, he assumed the role of a prospective buyer and called to inquire about purchasing a residential unit. An AI chatbot guided him through the conversation, collected the relevant information and scheduled an appointment to view the property.
Behind the customer-facing interaction, MRI Agora Orchestrator used agentic AI to manage the more complex workflow processes. This example showed how conversational AI and real estate workflow automation can work together to improve the customer experience while reducing manual work for employees.
MRI describes Agora Orchestrator as a platform that can run workflows within rules established by the organization, flag exceptions for human review and maintain traceable records of agent actions. This combination of automation and human oversight will be important as real estate organizations evaluate how to adopt agentic AI responsibly.
What Is the Difference Between MRI Agora Intelligence and Orchestrator?
A key takeaway from MRI Ascend APAC was the distinction between MRI Agora Intelligence and MRI Agora Orchestrator.
MRI Agora Intelligence analyzes information, identifies issues and recommends how teams could prioritize or resolve them. MRI Agora Orchestrator takes the next step by executing an appropriate workflow on behalf of the team member responsible for the outcome.
Put simply, Agora Intelligence recommends what should happen. Agora Orchestrator helps make it happen.
This progression from AI-generated insight to controlled workflow execution represents an important development for property organizations. AI can create greater operational value when it connects with existing systems, business rules and data instead of functioning as an isolated chatbot.
As REdirect also observed at MRI Ascend EMEA, attendees in APAC responded enthusiastically to the possibilities presented by MRI Agora AI.
What Do PMX 10.7 and MRI Agora Mean for PMX Clients?
For MRI PMX clients, the combination of PMX 10.7, Application Studio and MRI Agora AI creates a significant opportunity to modernize property operations.
Organizations may be able to use these capabilities to connect workflows, automate repetitive processes, improve access to operational intelligence and make better use of data already stored within their property management systems. Application Studio can provide greater flexibility, while Agora Intelligence and Orchestrator can help teams move more efficiently from identifying an issue to resolving it.
Potential applications may include:
- Automating repetitive property management workflows
- Connecting information across real estate applications
- Prioritizing operational issues using AI-generated recommendations
- Reducing manual handoffs between teams and systems
- Improving the consistency and traceability of routine processes
- Allowing employees to focus on exceptions, relationships and strategic decisions
The technology alone, however, will not guarantee meaningful results. Property organizations must determine where AI and automation can deliver measurable business value, prepare their data and workflows, establish appropriate governance, and introduce new capabilities in a way that supports employees rather than adding complexity.
Preparing for AI-Powered Property Management
MRI Ascend APAC 2026 made it clear that the next phase of property technology will involve more than providing users with faster access to information. The greater opportunity lies in connecting intelligence with action.
For PMX clients that approach adoption strategically, MRI Agora AI, PMX 10.7 and Application Studio could offer a path toward greater scalability, higher productivity and stronger returns on technology investments.
Organizations should begin by assessing their existing workflows, identifying high-volume or repetitive activities, and determining where disconnected systems create delays. This provides a practical foundation for deciding where AI-powered recommendations or agentic automation can deliver the greatest value.
